What are the Factors that Influence Cost?

The following are the main factors that influence the cost of rhinoplasty.

The Surgeon

Expertise: Surgeons with more training and experience.
Role in Education and Body of Work: Giving lectures and publishing research articles on the topic of rhinoplasty indicates the dedication and focus of the surgeon on rhinoplasty. All these qualities ensure better outcomes.
Type of Practice: Rhinoplasty with a surgeon who specialises in this field alone. Such a practice is likely to have focus on outcome audits and ethical journeys
Location: Surgeons located in major cities.

The Procedure

The exact issue the patient has will determine the complexity of the procedure and outcomes and value. It is important to note that the procedure complexity for one patient may be different to the procedure complexity of another patient, even if the issue is the exact same (e.g. reducing tip size). This can only be determined after a meeting with the surgeon.

A revision rhinoplasty may cost more than a primary rhinoplasty. This however is variable and should be discussed after your consultation with the surgeon.

The Surgical Facility

A well located accredited hospital with multiple specialities and facilities is ideal. This is paramount for patient safety.

The Anaesthetist

Procedures which include general anaesthesia will require an anaesthetist with training and experience with full accreditations.

What is the Breakdown of Costs?

In our practice, we offer a formal estimate of the cost of the surgery offered a week following your consultation. Sometimes, while evaluating your functional needs, these estimates are deferred till after radiological and endoscopic evaluation.

The ‘estimate’ includes:

Surgeon’s fee
Anaesthetist’s fee
Surgical facility (hospital) fee
VAT, if applicable

As a rough guide in 2026, the surgeon’s fee may be around €7,000 – €10,000 across the functional and cosmetic surgeries. The hospital and anaesthetist fee together is typically up to €4,000, but these fees may not be applicable where insurance would cover the surgical intervention. Revision surgery typically for our own cases costs about 40% of the above.

Can My Rhinoplasty Be Covered by Health Insurance?

This depends on if the surgery includes some functional component, for example, treating a blocked nose. In cases of functional portions of the surgery with valid health insurance, the applicable benefits can be advised. Some of the benefits are pre-approved, while for others, you must request approval.
